Euracare launches Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is a scary disease that occurs in women and rarely in men. There is therefore a need for women to ensure they get examined regularly for early detection of symptoms to reduce their risk of getting breast cancer. The month of October worldwide is dedicated to Breast Cance Awareness also referred to as Pink October. This year’s breast cancer awareness month (BCAM) theme focuses on Giving Hope and Saving Lives!
In recognition of the annual global effort to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment of Breast Cancer, Euracare is providing discounted services for digital mammography, abdomen, and pelvic ultrasound scans valid until the 5th of November 2021.
Euracare Advanced Diagnostics & Heart Centre joined the Lions Club International District 418 Ghana on the 15th of October 2021 to conduct a free breast screening for communities in Akropong, Akwapim. The Euracare Team participated in the First Annual Women’s Health Fair held at the Ghana College for Physicians and Surgeons on the 16th of October 2021 to advertise discounted mammogram services to communities in the Ridge area.
Euracare in partnership with the Dorothy Hope Foundation took part in a Walkerthon (Breast Cancer Awareness Health Walk) on the 23rd of October 2021 from the Cantonments Post Office to the Tema Station A.M.A Building (6.4km) to create awareness on breast cancer and the role of regular exercise in reducing the risk of breast cancer recurrence.
Euracare in partnership with Graphic Communications Group Limited will provide free breast examinations for the communities in the South Industrial Area, Accra on the 27th and 29th of October 2021.
The free breast screening projects aim to provide an opportunity to raise communities and women’s awareness about cancer, and the benefits of preventive medicine. Together we can beat it. Get your breasts checked!
