World Stroke Day, on October 29th seeks to emphasize the serious nature and high rates of stroke. The day is also observed to raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of strokes. The 2020 theme for World Stroke Day is ‘Join the movement, don’t be the one in four that gets a stroke.’
Ghana has made remarkable attempts in developing comprehensive stroke services, organizing in-service training for staff on accurate diagnosis, acute stroke care, managing the medical and surgical complications, and rehabilitation.
